How to get to Vigo

Vigo Airport is very close to the city. There is regular transport to the centre (bus line 9, £1.35 per journey).The other nearest airports are Porto, with a regular bus service connecting it to Vigo Bus Station (Autna), and Santiago de Compostela. In this case, the connection to Vigo is from the train station or the bus station (soon to be joined).

Although Vigo is an important cruise ship port, it is usually a stopover or even the starting point for journeys. It is not a port of arrival.The estuary has significant regular traffic between its two banks: from Vigo to Moaña and Cangas, and vice versa. In high season, there is also regular transport to the Cíes Islands from Cangas, Vigo and Baiona.

Vigo has excellent connections with its surrounding area and other cities. However, the car is usually the most efficient way to travel between cities.Nevertheless, in the city of Vigo, and especially in the centre, traffic is chaotic, and it is often better to walk or use public transport.
